Paul de Launay took control of his family's domain in the 1960s, and currently his daughter Agnes de Launay is in charge here, albeit with some input from Paul. From its 20 hectares of naturally farmed hillside vineyards, Domaine du Meix-Foulot focuses on concentrated, structured Pinot Noirs that often require and reward aging. Roughly a tenth of the vines are planted to Chardonnay, of which the domain produces pleasant lightly-oaked renditions. We're also struck by an unforgettable view of Mercurey below from these gradually sloping vineyards, some of the prettiest in the Cote Chalonnaise.
