About Bethel Heights Vineyard
Bethel Heights Vineyard Facts
A family operation through and through, this Willamette Valley vineyard has been run by the Casteel -- Dudley -- Webb family conglomerate since 1977. It's a testament to the possibilities of cooperation that 11, yes 11, family members are currently co-owners of the vineyard. There is also a profound respect for the environment here. Ted Casteel, one of the vineyard's founders, also co-founded the Low Input Viticulture and Enology certification program for sustainable viticulture. Did we mention they also make great wine?
Varietals Produced at Bethel Heights Vineyard
Deeply flavored Pinot Noirs that are rarely over extracted or out of whack are the focus here, along with estate grown Chardonnay and Pinot Blanc. Pinot Gris, Riesling, and Gruner Veltliner are also sourced from further afield for vinification at the winery in Eola Hills. These days, more and more of the work is done by the second generation of Casteels, who grew up at Bethel Heights and have returned to continue the tradition.
