About Argiano

Now owned by the countess Noemi Marone Cinzano, Argiano's noble roots date back to the renaissance, with the Peccis, the noble family who constructed the villa. This hilltop retreat, south-west of Montalcino, overlooks 48 acres of south facing vineyards, planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Merlot, and of course, Sangiovese. Winemaker Hans Vinding-Diers, in charge here since 2003, has steadily improved the estate's traditionally styled Brunello. But to see where Argiano puts its best foot forward, try the Super Tuscan Solengo. This blend of Cabernet, Syrah and Merlot remains fully established as the top wine of the estate. Newest to the portfolio is the Suolo, a 100% Sangiovese wine made from the estate's oldest vines and matured for a year in new oak.
