About Chateau Haut-Bailly
Located in the appellation of Pessac-Leognan, this Cru Classe de Graves has been under vine since the mid 15th century. Today, Haut-Bailly produces classic aromatic Graves: balanced, understated and graceful. Grown from a single-block vineyard distinguished by a mix of sandy and gravelly soils, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc are planted at 64%, 30% and 6% respectively. Wines are generally made from 65% Cabernet Sauvignon with 25% Merlot and 10% Petit Verdot. Often deceptively open in its youth, Haut-Bailly also has a long track record for positive development in bottle. The estate's second wine is Le Parde de Haut-Bailly, made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc, blended differently each vintage.
