I went to my local total wine store to pick up a nice, easy-drinking white wine that would go with the grilled fish my wife was going to cook that evening. I saw this bottle of vinho verde in the "easy-drinking whites" section and decided to pick it up. I had seen it already on previous visits to the store, but it didn't tickle my fancy/curiosity, so I always ended up getting something else, instead. I was still hesitant, so I asked an associate, who said it was pretty good an went well with fish. Boy am I glad I got it! I should have gotten it much sooner. Since I'm a wine newbie and used to drink very cheap sweet wines from either the supermarket or convenience store, it took me about 5 seconds to get used to this dry wine. Although it is dry, it's extremely easy to drink and very refreshing. It has a very light touch of sparkle eventhough it is not a champagne or sparkling wine. It went extremely well with the fish and rice. The next day We drank what was left with lasagna made by my wife and it went ok with it, too. If you are tired of drinking Porto wines or think Porto wines are the only thing or good thing coming out of Portugal, please, pick this "baby" up. You won't regret it.
