Chef Thomas Keller
Thomas Keller’s name is synonymous with quality and high standards. He is the first and only American-born chef to hold multiple MICHELIN three-star ratings, and the first American male chef designated as a Chevalier of The French Legion of Honor, the highest honor in French cuisine. His many accolades include The Culinary Institute of America’s “Chef of the Year” Award, the James Beard Foundation’s “Outstanding Chef” and “Outstanding Restaurateur” Awards, and MICHELIN Guide’s Chef Mentor Award. He also holds an honorary doctorate in Culinary Arts from The Culinary Institute of America, and he led a team from the U.S. to its first-ever gold medal in the Bocuse d’Or—which is regarded as the Olympics of the culinary world.

French native Michel Couvreux has 20 years of experience at some of the world’s top culinary destinations, including the three-Michelin starred Restaurant L’Arpege in Paris, plus Per Se, Le Bernardin, and Restaurant Bouley in New York City. Gourmet awarded his program at Le Bernardin the title of “Top Wine List New York City,” and New York Magazine named him “One of the Great Sommeliers in America.” At The Surf Club Restaurant, Couvreux has assembled a diverse selection of Old World classics and New World discoveries that’s earned the restaurant four consecutive Wine Spectator Best of Awards of Excellence.
