One of the Most Iconic Sparkling Producers in Italy

Masottina, the third-generation winery that crafted the first-ever Prosecco to crack Wine Spectator’s Top 100 list, is without question one of the most iconic sparkling-wine producers in Italy—and their Collezione 96 Rosé is one of the top values they’ve ever made.

Named in homage of a landmark 96 point score in Decanter’s pages that stunned the wine world and helped put quality Prosecco on the map, this blends Glera—the traditional grape of the region—with 10% Pinot Noir to produce a rosé that Wine Enthusiast declared one of their Top 100 Best Buys in 2022.

Bottled as a Brut, which is drier than most Prosecco, it offers flavors of crisp nectarines, white strawberries, and freshly melted snow. Meet one of the biggest crowd-pleasers out there.

The first sign of seriousness is Masottina’s use of Pinot Noir in this elegant rosé. Nicknamed “the heartbreak grape” for its trickiness to farm, Pinot produces a more nuanced, suave bottle than grapes more commonly grown in the Veneto. That speaks to the obsession with quality—the kind that produces appearances on Top 100 lists and stellar scores.

Masottina owns significant vineyards around the village of Ogliano, their home base, where clay soils and meticulous farming help produce wines of superb structure and aromatic intensity. Other grapes are drawn from the vineyards of Solighetto, known for producing Proseccos with pronounced minerality, and Rolle, a northern area associated with wines of striking brightness.

Our members have taken quite a shine to Massotina: They’re some of our best-selling and highest-rated Proseccos of the last few years. That allowed us to secure an exciting discount—and we’re confident that like the others, this one will be a favorite as well.
