    Two years ago, we spent more than 10 months in hot pursuit of the award-winning HEAVENSAKE Junmai Daiginjo Yamaguchi. When we finally offered it to our members, it became our single bestselling sake of all time.

    We’re now thrilled to offer that legend’s excellent stablemate: the HEAVENSAKE Urakasumi Junmai Daiginjo Miyagi.

    This brand new bottling—you won’t even find it on the brewery’s website—is a collaboration between Maison Rare Champagne winemaker Regis Camus and Brewery Urakasumi. Helmed by the legendary Saura San and home to a widely coveted proprietary yeast strain, Urakasumi is responsible for a number of our all-time favorite sakes. 

    Champagnes made by Regis Camus typically cost $100 or more, and his blending skill and dedication to quality have made HEAVENSAKE an important presence in the fine-dining world. It’s a standby at MICHELIN-starred hotspots like New York’s Sushi Nakazawa, Hakkasan, Yuba, and Tao, who all love the complexity, richness, and detail that his blending skills bring to the traditionally single-batch sake world.

    Junmai daiginjo is the most exclusive, highly refined category of sake. This bottle shows off a beautiful tropical landscape of fruit: Layers of guava and pear lead into clouds of jasmine dotted with spice. There’s a pure, luxurious silkiness to the mouthfeel, with the brightness of a crunchy pineapple on the finish. It all leads to a long finish that lingers and compels another sip. Pure magic.
