    Leading the Grower Champagne Revolution

From the distinguished terroirs of the Vallée de la Marne comes Gaston Chiquet's Premier Cru Brut Rosé, a Champagne that epitomizes the house's signature style of focused refinement and willowy elegance.

The story of Gaston Chiquet began in 1919 when two brothers dared to break with tradition and bottle their own wines, but the family's roots stretch back to 1746 when Nicolas Chiquet first planted vines in these soils. Today's wines are neither showy nor experimental; instead, they represent the quiet heroism of careful, thorough winemaking.

Crafted from Premier and Grand Cru vineyards across Aÿ, Dizy, Hautvillers, and Mareuil-sur-Aÿ, this rosé threads the needle between mineral precision and generous fruit, achieving a rare balance that speaks of thoughtful craftsmanship without unnecessary flourish.

Nicolas Chiquet's approach to his rosé exemplifies his purist philosophy: no oak aging, allowing instead the natural concentration of perfectly ripened fruit to build texture and complexity. The base wines undergo careful malolactic fermentation and receive a deliberately low dosage, resulting in a rosé Champagne with suave, caramelly undertones that perfectly complement its silken precision.

With a  masterful blend of 40% Pinot Noir, 30% Chardonnay, and 30% Meunier, this rosé showcases the house's expertise in balancing these varieties. The result is a Champagne that exhibits what Peter Liem describes as "generous depth of fruit with a pronounced character of place."

This is winemaking that respects tradition while remaining thoroughly contemporary, producing a Brut rosé  that is classical rather than romantic, thoughtful but never aloof.
