2018 Smith-Madrone Riesling Spring Mountain

There’s nothing like Smith-Madrone’s Spring Mountain Riesling, a wine we chased for years because it’s one of the unquestionable Napa Valley greats. It stepped boldly onto the global stage in 1979, winning Best Riesling in the World from French restaurant guide Gault Millau, and has remained an upper-echelon benchmark since then.

2021 Ashlyn Pinot Gris Willamette Valley

Winemakers Bryan and Shellie Croft, both alums of Napa’s renowned Silverado Vineyards, deliver some of the very best wines coming out of Oregon. Their 2021 Pinot Gris, primarily from two sites of 30-year-old vines in the cool Van Duzer Corridor, is a crystalline citrus and stone-fruit portrait of one of this decade’s best vintages.
