The Keys to the Cellar
When we got the keys to the Castellucci cellar, we discovered some of the finest Napa Valley library wines we’d had in years.
This two-bottle set comes straight from their library. Both shaped by world-class winemaker Jac Cole—an author of legendary, long-lived wines at Spring Mountain Vineyards and Stag’s Leap Wine Cellars—these bottles portray two phenomenal Napa Valley vintages and vineyards through a decade-long lens.
Castellucci’s 2014 Rutherford Cabernet was grown on the family’s vineyard between Silverado Trail and Zinfandel Lane, across the Napa River from Quintessa and not far from Sullivan Estate. Their 2015 Fern Rock Vineyard Cabernet hails from a steep, dramatic Spring Mountain site that’s been a vineyard for over a century. The high-elevation terraced vines, planted in 1993, produce a remarkable Cabernet with deeply concentrated fruit, graceful complexity, and refined tannins.
Founded by Italian immigrant and property magnate Antonio Castellucci—a true American success story—the Castellucci family has owned and farmed land in Napa Valley for over 20 years. They own 50 acres spread over prime sites in the Spring Mountain, Carneros, Rutherford, and St. Helena AVAs. The vineyards are managed by Antonio’s son Marco and his team, who give them rapt attention year-round.
These stunning Cabernets, from two of the top vintages in the last decade, are drinking beautifully right now. A perfect Napa Valley time capsule to uncork and enjoy over the holidays and beyond!
