The Greatness of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon
The 2022 Yesterday comes from one of the most pedigreed wineries in Napa Valley—a celebrated St. Helena winery whose top wines are some of the valley’s boldest, most full-throttle $300+ Cabernets. Robert Parker once wrote they “represent the greatness of Napa Cabernet Sauvignon.”
They’re a perfect fit for Yesterday—the label we reserve for our most prestigious NDA wines, with a track record like no other in the stable. Last vintage, the 2021 Yesterday Cabernet Sauvignon’s 4.7 stars put it in the same league as Silver Oak, Caymus, and Phelps Insignia!
2022 Yesterday Cabernet comes from hillside vines not too far from BOND’s Quella. That kind of pedigreed terroir often sells for hundreds of dollars, making our price lavish, black-fruited Cabernet such an unbeatable bargain.
This deal came together thanks to over a decade of loyalty. There may be no winery whose Cabernet Sauvignons are more popular with Wine Access members—with no red scoring less than 4 stars in over 10 years!
In early 2023—when our winemaker buddy realized he had more wine than he could sell—we were his first call. He raved about the quality of the 2022 Cabernet harvest, and as the wine aged in barrel, he kept us apprised. When it came time for the final blending and bottling, we all worked together to identify just six barrels that would become the 2022 Yesterday.
After 22 months in 50% new French oak, the Cabernet in those barrels was every bit as deep, black-fruited, and delicious as the flagship wines associated with this famous place.
