2021 Kukeri Wines Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville 750 ml

The aptly named Money Road slices through the tenderloin of Napa’s prestigious Oakville AVA.

Located not far from Opus One, the vineyards on Money Road’s east side rub shoulders with the Groth Reserve Block that produced California's first 100-point wine. The area is also home to vineyards held by the likes of Swanson, Saddleback, and Laird. 

We’re talking ground zero for classic Oakville Cabernet, and it’s where winemaker Petar Kirilov’s outstanding 2021 Kukeri Cabernet Sauvignon Oakville was grown.

Kukeri is all about small-lot Cabernet winemaking in Napa’s most expensive appellations—places where sky-high prices are commonplace. Petar selects growers with extreme care. He wears out shoe leather knocking on doors of vineyard owners and pores over topo maps, climate charts, and soil reports to locate the choicest pockets of terroir.  

Don’t ask us how Petar keeps the price of his Cabernet from Oakville—the appellation synonymous with names like Plumpjack and Beckstoffer To Kalon—down to two digits. Just enjoy this phenomenal wine.

Showing a deep ruby core, this Cabernet is bold and muscular yet sensual and elegant. The aromas are led by a lush dark-berry focal point, accented by violets and baking spice with a hint of fresh-roasted espresso and a hint of cassis. The palate is broad and firm, with black cherry and plum wrapped in graphite minerals. A stern tannic structure leads to a long finish. 

This Cabernet does the Oakville AVA proud. Few can match a bottle like this dollar for dollar, which is why Kukeri has become a favorite among our members. Given the quantity, we recommend you grab yours early.
