Carter Cellars does not put out a drop of wine that isn’t world-class.
Vintner Mark Carter founded the winery with the simple goal of creating the best Cabernet Sauvignon possible. His first order of business was enlisting the expertise of Nils Venge—the man who crafted the very first Napa Cabernet to earn 100 points from Wine Advocate.
By tapping the top vineyards in Napa Valley—including coveted Beckstoffer sites like To Kalon and Las Piedras—Carter has built his winery into an iconic cult brand that savvy collectors love. Carter’s Cabs consistently rank with Napa’s crème de la crème but bear prices that don’t come close to what you normally see for elite Napa wines.
We are incredibly fortunate to share a set of four Carter Cellars Cabernets from the 2020 vintage. The scores haven’t hit on these yet, but knowing Carter’s quality and track record—Jeb Dunnuck and Wine Advocate have given Carter’s bottles 45 ratings of 98+ points or more, including nine 100-point scores—it’s a pretty safe bet that the numbers will land in the stratosphere.
