Over-Achieving Sauvignon Blanc for Any Budget
Wine Access members literally cannot get enough of this wine, and they’re not shy to endorse it. “A favorite at our house, everything a Sauvignon Blanc should be,” praises one member. Others back their adoration with action, writing “Superb Sauvignon Blanc” and “I have bought it three times now.” Sommeliers and Wine Access members flock to the wine for its ability to over-deliver on personality for the price. Even celebrity chef Jamie Oliver has made it a staple at home, saying “Love your wine, always have some in the cellar.”
Today, we’re thrilled to share another allocation of this stunner, direct from the South Island with perfect provenance.
A perennial darling at competitions, Tinpot Hut has no shortage of prestige. In fact, the 2016 vintage shocked the world when it received the highest score ever for a Sauvignon Blanc from Decanter. This release doesn’t have any critic ratings yet, but we expect it to land high on the charts, so get it before the critics weigh in. Every vintage thus far has been graced with gold medals, yet for all of the accolades, the wine is made for unpretentious enjoyment.
It’s no surprise that this is our top-selling Sauvignon Blanc, year after year. You just can’t find a better Sauvignon Blanc deal than this. Tinpot Hut is a perfect New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc: a pure synergy of ambrosial fruit and striking complexity.
Winemaker & owner Fiona Turner sources the grapes for Tinpot Hut from her Home Block Vineyard in the Blind River subregion of Marlborough. Considered now to be one of New Zealand’s top sites for Sauvignon Blanc, the vineyard’s strong winds, cool growing conditions, and low yields result in super-concentrated grapes. That depth and focus forge the essence of Turner’s guava and melon-scented white, showing in complexity, exuberant fruit, and mouthwatering acidity.
The 2019 Tinpot Hut Sauvignon Blanc upholds the purity, focus, and delectable character of the last three all-star vintages. We recommend stocking up while you can.
