The Earth Shook. We Stayed Still.

Quality-wise, the 2018 McHenry Hohnen Cabernet Sauvignon Hazel's Vineyard fits in with some of the best Cabernets in the world. Check out this 95-point rave from Vinous:

“The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Hazel's Vineyard, a single vineyard, biodynamically farmed Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautifully poised and crystal clear expression of Margaret River… The balance is immaculate with manicured tannins and bright acidity also driving a finish of astounding length. So impressive and ready to unfold over at least the next decade.”

McHenry Hohnen is one of the classic producers of Australia’s Margaret River, and Hazel’s Vineyard is their southernmost site. Certified biodynamic, blessed with a northerly exposure and free-draining ironstone gravel loam soil, it provides the backbone for the winery’s portfolio. The 2018 Hazel’s Cabernet, after aging for 16 months in 30% new French oak and another several years in bottle, is layered and savory, showing a beautiful New World fruit profile and stout Old World structure.

Gorgeous wines often come from gorgeous places, and the beauty of this Cabernet is no mystery once you set eyes on Margaret River. The maritime-influenced Australian region is practically Napa Valley on the ocean, and that proximity to the sea does more than make Margaret River the ultimate location for surfer-winemakers. The nearby Indian Ocean cools the grapes, which bathe in copious amounts of sunshine all season long. It’s a combination that makes Margaret River a perfect place for viticulture.

No bottle shows Margaret River’s personality and quality better than this jewel. It impressed us so much that we imported it ourselves, and we want you to experience the payoff.
