100-Point Napa Star in Wine Spectator’s Favorite Vintage Ever
There might be no bottle that earns more consistent raves from our members than Phil Corallo-Titus’s Coho Headwaters. They’ve called it “fabulous” and “one of our all-time favorites,” giving it a slew of five-star reviews and often lamenting, as their cases dwindle, “Should have bought more!”
Over the course of the 10 vintages we’ve offered it, the Coho Headwaters’ member-ratings consistently put it in league with Napa reds twice as expensive, and the 2018—from the year that Wine Spectator thinks is the greatest vintage in the history of Napa—may be the most impressive edition we’ve ever tasted.
This is a powerful and generous red wine that displays 100-point winemaker Corallo-Titus’s skill, showing why Headwaters is a consistent hit with our members. Luxurious from first aroma to the long finish, it’s a stunner.
Corallo-Titus made his name with decadent, high-scoring Cabernets from Chappellet. He further honed his skills with his namesake Titus label, which Robert Parker praised for its “consistent high quality” year after year. All his experience producing top-scoring wines is now pouring into Coho, and it shows in the ripe concentration and refined structure of this Headwaters blend. It’s nearly impossible not to finish this bottle once it’s opened—it’s just that good.
Founded by 30-year wine-industry veteran Gary Lipp—an alum of Paul Hobbs, Chalone, Robert Mondavi, and Chappellet—Coho transmits Napa Valley terroir in wines renowned for their power and balance. Since 2014, Corallo-Titus has been at Coho’s winemaking helm, stewarding blends like Headwaters to robust, fruit-laden fame.
Grown primarily in the prestigious Coombsville AVA, home to wines like Favia and Paul Hobbs’ Nathan Coombs Estate, the 2018 Headwaters delivers power, finesse, and ageability.
