Wine Access Tasting Note

Dark ruby color with ruby reflections at the rim. Ripe dark cherry, sweet citrus peel, and blackberry overtones. There is a lifted floral note along with an anchored damp earth element. Dark fruits are generous with accents of black tea, wildflowers, and freshly turned, rocky organic earth. The wine shows fantastic balance right from the beginning, and continues to add more complexity to the finish the longer it’s open. Drink 2022 - 2035.

Grivot’s parcel in the Échezeaux Grand Cru is located at the southern end, in the climat of Les Cruots. With its lifted floral note and anchored damp earth element, the 2017 boasts incredible complexity on both sides of its ripe dark cherry and blackberry core. It shows fantastic balance right from the beginning, and adds more and more complexity the longer it’s open—as Vinous said, its bouquet “features a mixture of red and black fruit and seems to grow in the glass.” A gorgeous example of precision and harmony from this legendary Grand Cru.
