99-Point Legacy from Homecoming Winemaker

The 2015 Beringer Private Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is a collectible icon from a vintage that will live forever in the legacy of Napa’s Beringer estate. Mark Beringer, the fifth-generation heir to the legendary château, claimed the winemaking throne with eminence when his first vintage of Beringer’s top cuvée earned a massive 99 points from James Suckling.

Our limited allocation is expected to go just as fast as our last from Beringer, which was our most popular offer of the past two years.

Returning to the vineyards his family first cultivated generations ago, Mark showed his complete mastery of the house style that has twice earned Beringer Wine of the Year honors from Wine Spectator. #24 of Suckling’s Top 100 Wines of the World 2018, we have this best-in-class California Cabernet at a 21% savings by the bottle.

Not just a critic-favorite, Wine Access members collectively awarded past vintages of this blockbuster a near-perfect 4.9 out of 5 stars.

Mark Beringer selects the lots from a blend of the estate’s mountain and valley vineyards: Bancroft Ranch and the volcanic Steinhauer Ranch vineyards from Howell Mountain lend to the spicy sandalwood and cedar plank tones interwoven with black mountain fruit, while generous sunshine and the iron soils in St. Helena’s Home and Chabot vineyards nourish ripe Cabernet grapes that deliver the velvety mouthfeel. 2015 was a drought vintage in Napa Valley, which resulted in dense berries packed with flavor.

The Beringer family pioneered Napa Valley when brothers Jacob and Frederick left their home in Germany to settle 215 acres of rocky, fertile soil in Napa Valley in 1875. Constant innovators, the family led the Napa hospitality tradition as the first Napa winery to open its doors to the public in the 1930s.

Their ability to select the finest sites in Napa shows the same vision that cultivated the classic Napa Valley Cabernet style that is still mimicked by hundreds of winemakers today. The Beringer Private Reserve is a nod to Napa tradition and terroir. As Mark Beringer’s first vintage as chief winemaker, 2015 will no doubt be forever remembered in the legacy.
