A Racy Rosé Champagne That Only We Have

The Brugnon family has been crafting scintillating, under-the-radar Champagne from their Premier Cru vineyards in Écueil for more than 70 years—and as soon as their Champagne M. Brugnon Rosé Selection Brut hit our palates, we remembered why some of the most renowned Champagne houses have been scooping up their grapes for decades.

    M. Brugnon Champagne is the reason our sommelier and wine-buyer friends are always stopping in—and since we’ve got the 100% exclusive in the US, they know the best they can do is score a sip or two when they swing by. The good news for them—and for Wine Access members—is that it’s now open season on this bottle, and once it’s gone…c’est ça!

When we stepped into the kitchen of Alain and Valérie Brugnon in the tiny village of Écueil, we had a strong feeling we were about to taste our next obsession. As we eagerly took our seats around an aged table that we knew had seen many a feast, we spied a large bag of oysters in the sink and a heaping pile of sliced lemons off to the side.

Our palates primed and our interest piqued, we dove into the rosé, and as we emptied our glasses we asked for the exclusive on today’s Brut Rosé. That’s how it’s been from the beginning with Wine Access and the Brugnons, when we first shocked them by claiming a hundred cases of their small-production Champagne. The Brugnons are so accommodating that they even custom-disgorge the wine for us, adjusting the dosage to six grams per liter to match our members’ preferences.

The result is a brut rosé that’s chiseled, refreshing, and direct from chez Brugnon.
